How does page load speed impact bounce rate ?

The average time it takes to fully load a mobile landing page is 22 seconds, yet 53% of mobile site visitors leave a page that takes longer than three seconds to load.

So how can you benchmark your site page load speed with respect to audience bounce rate?

Daniel An, Global Mobile Web Product lead at Google writes,

As page load time goes from 1-3 seconds, probability of bounce increases 32%

As page load time goes from 1-5 seconds, probability of bounce increases 90%

As page load time goes from 1- 6 seconds, probability of bounce increases 106%

As page load time goes from 1-10 seconds, probability of bounce increases 23%

Google also just launched, TestMySite, a pretty nifty tool for you to input your site URL and benchmark your speed.

Sometime back Double Click also published an interesting infographic which talks about the issues of page latency and how it can impact business
