How to write better email copy ? Learn from the experts
Email marketing is a science.
Much derided, much maligned at times, the good old trustworthy email remains the linchpin, when it comes to customer conversion in this digital world.
- Yes even for mobile app downloads, emails work. Better than ads in many cases
- Most social media companies get their users, by growth hacking your individual email database
- They even get you to return to their social platform by sending you periodic, static - email
The question then is - in a world of many emails and many email marketers, how do you get a better grip on email copy. Sure, there are a million blogs out there with advice on "ten ways to write a better headline", but which ones do you follow?
Fact remains, nothing works like expertise from those who have actually done it.
The folks at Front, (they built a pretty nifty internal comms/email integration software), have collated some of the best emails from new age software companies and aggregated them in a search friendly landing page.
Aptly titled goodemailcopy.com it aggregates some excellent email copy examples from Slack to Zendesk.
Check it out here. Since the focus is on copy, most of the content is plaintext which you can literally use and adapt to your own comms. Loved quite a few of the examples.
The learning is around economy of words and driving core action. This is not about great design and amazing literature.
Big thanks to the team at Front for making this collection available. Have to say, great marketing by the team to its most trusted community.
